We had an incredible inaugural Spring season with 95 players registered. Boy and girl players, grades 2 through 9, from a variety of different school districts, joined the program to develop the critical skills necessary to play and enjoy the game. We learned fundamentals of the sport through fun activities and small area games. Once comfortable with passing, catching and moving the ball, we competed with groups within our organization. And when confidence grew, we played exhibition games against teams in nearby communities.

This Fall and Winter, we will have a few opportunities to gather, learn about the sport, and practice some of the things we already know. Those dates will be announced soon. Additionally, Premier Lacrosse is working with the Taylor Sportsplex to bring Downriver Box Lacrosse during the Winter Months. Then in the Spring, all age levels will be joining and participating in nearby lacrosse leagues.

Lacrosse is a really terrific game and we canít wait to help grow the sport in this area. It is fast paced and complements so many sports that youth in this area are involved in, such as hockey, basketball, football and soccer. While feild lacrosse is typically played in the Spring, we are meeting twice a week this Fall through October 29th to help grow and develop existing players and to provide an opportunity for new players to learn about the sport.
