Trenton, Lacrosse, Detroit, Michigan, Storm, Storm Lacrosse, Trenton Lacrosse, Trenton Lacrosse Association,

We had an incredible inaugural Spring (2017) season with 95 players registered. Boy and girl players, grades 2 through 9, from a variety of different school districts, joined the program to develop the critical skills necessary to play and enjoy the game of lacrosse. We learned fundamentals of the sport through fun activities and small area games. Once comfortable with passing, catching and moving the ball, we competed with groups within our organization. And when confidence grew, we played exhibition games against teams in nearby communities.

In the coming season, we will be joining leagues that will include several organizations outside the 600 square mile Downriver community.  It is probable that the Trenton Lacrosse Association will offer more than one team per gender and age group(s).  Both the boys and girls leagues that we will be participating with have discussed establishing “play dates” or “meet-ups” to reduce the travel requirement for participating organizations.

Lacrosse is a really terrific game and we can’t wait to help grow the sport in this area. It is fast paced and complements so many sports that youth in this area are involved in, such as hockey, basketball, football, and soccer. While field lacrosse is typically played in the Spring, we are meeting twice a week this Fall through October 29th to help grow and develop existing players and to provide an opportunity for new players to learn about the sport.
